Experience the Real Sri Lanka
Myra and Cliff Taylor - Aberdeen Scotland - October 2013
Thank you so much for looking after us so well. We had an amazing time. The love of your country shines through. The places we saw were just fantastic and the people so lovely – we always got lovely smiles.
The knowledge of the history of Sri Lanka was so vast and we learned so much from you. We will hopefully be back one day and would have no hesitation in recommending you to friends or indeed anyone we know. Thank you for also treating us more like friends then just another client.

Matthew Harris, Hong Ling, & Little Clara – London - 2 September 2013
Upul arranged for two guides Ignatius who looked after us for 6 days and then Upul took over for the last two. Both were good. We had a fabulous time in Sri Lanka. Truly a brilliant island with fabulous ancient history. Clare (nearly 2) also learnt a new word ‘stupa’ Upul also went beyond the call of duty – getting us on a train when there were no tickets and introducing us to ‘Arrack’.
We will recommend you to our friends in London (and had used you because you were recommended by your friends in Hong Kong)

Thank you Upul for everything you have arranged over the last 8 days. You have been amazing with your facts, knowledge, understanding your client’s needs (Beer) and making this holiday a great memory of ours.
The tour was busy and beautiful with so much to see and enjoy and your unscheduled stops to see and meet people not mentioned in the guide book was special.
Thank you once again for sharing and showing us your beautiful country. We will be talking about this trip to many of our friends and family and I am sure they will be booking soon.
Tamara and Ivan - Serbia - 14 July 2013
Thank you for a wonderful 3 days in which we saw one of the most beautiful parts of the world. You showed us a bit of everything. We enjoyed temples, historical sites (even climbing :-) ) and all your stories. We will recommend you and your country to our friends and family. We wish you all the best and see you again to show us 4 remaining sites :-)

I have just spent a couple of days touring part if the island with Upul and I have to say a big thank-you to him for making such a great time. Upul was recommended to me by a friend who had toured with him previously and because she spoke so highly of him I decided to see for myself.
Throughout the tour Upul was full of interesting facts and took his time to explain points of interest to me. I think through our e-mail conversation before I arrived he had a rough idea of what I liked and didn’t like and the tour he put together was fantastic. The highlight for me was the tea plantations.
Upul was really kind in offering to take photos and also making random stops if I saw something I liked. He’s really very flexible!
I’m only here for a week, but I would have liked to have spent longer touring with him. However, I have decided to return next year and have already asked him to piece together an itinerary for me.
I guess the thing I noticed the most was that it felt like I was more with an old friend than someone I didn’t know and I feel very grateful for having the opportunity of meeting Upul and spending some time with him too. He’s very easy to talk to an a great listener.
Thanks Upul – I had a fantastic time J

Upul – I think we’ll change your name to “Super Upul”! There was nothing you couldn’t sort, answer solve or improve. From the beginning of our email discussions, to you helping us sort out getting cushions made en route to Anuradhapura and finding a wine cork in Passekudah. You showed us Sri Lanka in style and always with kindness, patience and humour. Your knowledge of Buddhism, the local flora and fauna, history and legends of your country is astounding. You picked us up at the airport in the wee hours in Negombo and after we rested showed us around Kandy. You met up with us again later in Colombo and then we spent the next 17 days visiting Galle, Mirissa, Yala Nat’l Park where you spotted three leopards, finding a great spot to watch the poya procession in Tissahamarama, fun hikes for the kids and us in Ella, showing us the highlights of Nuwara Eliya before we change plans for a night in Passekudah. Dambulla Caves, Polonaruwa ruins and the vertigo inducing climb up Sigiriya Rock with the missing step. Informing us and keeping us cool in-between stops in Anuradhapura. Last but not least driving us to the unknown Kalpitiya peninsula and sorting out a birthday cake for Linda Jean. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience thanks to you Upul – organised, courteous, kind, funny, patient, knowledgeable, the list goes on. I love Sri Lanka thanks to you. We’ll miss your presence. It’s been and experience we’ll never forget.
You are always welcome in New Zealand.

Thank you for such an enjoyable holiday despite THE STEPS but even they were good for a laugh. Everything was wonderful – the people all so beautiful and friendly, the relaxed dogs in the road and cats, both so at home lying in the path of the traffic, the wildlife we saw, the rear of the leopard. I enjoyed the two head massages and am sure they have rejuvenated my BRAIN! And some notable bumpy car journeys loosened some joints! All the sights and temples of course were interesting to experience as your vast knowledge gave me an insight into Buddhism and a deep appreciation of the Buddhist way of life. The visit to Ella was stunning and the scenery breathtaking! The thunderstorm in Yala Nation Park was spectacular – how did you arrange that?? Well there is much more I/We could write, and certainly this was a holiday to remember and we very much appreciate your amazing knowledge and friendship.
We hope to return again sometime and do hope you might enjoy a trip to Dubai or UK.
Love and blessings to you and your family.
We will never forget you!!

We would like to add our voices to the chorus of praise for Upul. He made our short trip to the country a pleasurable and memorable experience. He was a superb driver/guide for our four-day whirlwind tour of Sri Lanka. He was exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly, flexible, and prompt with an excellent command of English. He handled the often difficult driving situations with great care and skill and provided an outstanding commentary at the various sites along the way. He allowed us time to explore on our own and was sensitive to my wife’s desire to stop frequently and photograph beautiful scenes. In addition to the major tourist sites, he showed us areas such as a rubber plantation and pineapple fields that enhanced our appreciation of the county. We could not have asked for a better guide.

Thank you so much for an amazing tour of your beautiful country!
From the first contact via email it was clear you are a trustworthy, ethical and flexible individual. You were amazing in organising our 9 day tour and accommodated all our initial requests. You sir, are a walking encyclopedia and your knowledge on various subjects from, history, wildlife, culture, heritage and people is astounding. Travelling in a new country with my wife, you always ensured our safety and well being. Upul, you are a true gentleman, we really enjoyed your company especially your insights into the Buddhist religion.
Upul your list of contacts is also amazing! At every location we visited, you always somehow got us in quick and gave the best seating/standing areas. As a Sikh, I also appreciate you explaining to the police on the headgear entrance policies!
Upul is one of the most punctual men I have ever known! Always on time with a smile and itinerary ready for the day.
We will definitely visit Sri Lanka one day and are going to recommend you to all our friends and family. It has been a beautiful journey a BIG THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts.

I have to admit I lost the track of time during this 2 weeks and got carried away on this new, exciting, adventurous world. And the person to thank is Upul.
Everything was perfect from the start till the very end (I am a control freak but with him we didn't have to worry about anything). He was flexible to tweak the itinerary and spare a day for us to climb the Adams Peak (couldn't walk for 3 days afterwards but it was 100% worth it :) )
The hotels we stayed at were absolutely fabulous, with amazing views and friendly helpful staff. Overall I haven't regretted a single second of booking the tour with Upul. He was knowledgeable, experienced, funny and kind at heart.
Thank you so much and take care.
Wish you all the best.
Melanie and Dave, Sussex England - 20 February 2013
Thank you so much for giving us a wonderful holiday, truly memorable in so many ways. Your knowledge of this beautiful country helped bring the history and culture alive more than any guide book ever could. You met us with a smile and despite hurricane winds (Ella) and Colombo traffic the smile never left you. Thank you for card games over Arrack, two leopards at Yala, the wonderful family who made more uses out of a coconut than we ever thought possible!, the fantastic train ride, all the sights and stories you shared with us and all the brilliant and delicious Sri Lankan cuisine. We know you didn't magic up those blue whales for us but, with the number of people you know EVERYWHERE anything is possible! Very much hope to see you again.
Best Wishes
Sheila and Dave, Silverdale UK - 27 Jan - 4 Feb 2013
Thanks for such a great trip. Your help and advice has been excellent, from the initial planning stages , advise on where to stay and of course throughout the tour. We hoped to be travelling with someone who would be able to provide the extra touches fromt heir knowledge of Sri Lanka and the locations visited - you certainly did that.
The nine days were really well put together and out last day with you walking to Adams Peak (mini) and along the railway track around Ella to the bridge and waterfall were a truly memorable end to a great tour.
Thanks very much for looking after us so well - we will definitely recommend you to friends in the UK.
Good luck with your business in the future and best wishes to you and your family
