The Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive Colombo
You will be met at the airport and transferred to Negombo. Check-in at Hotel for Overnight stay. If the arrival is during the day there is an opportunity to do a sightseeing tour of Negombo.
Day 02: Pinnawala/Sigiriya
Morning departure for Pinnawala elephant orphanage. See the elephants being cared for, fed and bathed. Proceed from Pinnawala to Sigiriya. Climb the Sigiriya rock fortress, built in the 5th Century AD and rising 200 meters. Visit the frescoes of the 'Heavenly Maidens' of Sigiriya, approached by a spiral stairway. Overnight stay at selected Hotel
Day 03:Polonnaruwa
Morning departure to Polonnaruwa, built in the 11th and 12th Centuries AD. Visit the many ruins found here. Rest of the day at leisure or optional you can visit Minneriya National Park or Kaudulla National Park where mainly you can see Elephants and some birds. Stay overnight at selected Hotel
Day 04: Dambulla/Matale/Kandy
Morning departure for Dambulla Rock Temple, Sri Lanka's most impressive cave temple which contains many paintings and carvings. Travel from Dambulla to Kandy via Matale. In Matale visit a spice garden to see how they are grown and processed. Continue from Matale to Kandy, Drive around the lake, built in 1807 and visit Kandy town and its many attractions. In the evening visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and a cultural show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dancing. Stay overnight at selected Hotel - Kandy
Day 05: Kandy/Peradeniya
Morning visit the outskirts of Kandy visiting the 60 hectare botanical gardens. Return from Peradeniya to Kandy and continue with a city tour of Kandy if you like you can visit Gem, Batik and Wood carving factories here. Stay overnight at selected Hotel - Kandy
Day 06: Kandy/Nuwara Eliya
Travel to Nuwara Eliya and on the way visiting the waterfalls Tea plantations, Tea factory and visit Nuwara Eliya City. Stay overnight at selected Hotel –Nuwara Eliya
Day 07: Nuwara Eliya/Ella
Optional tour - early morning travel to Horton Plains National park then travel to Ella either in the vehicle or if you prefer you can go on the 12.30pm train to Ella for both the experience and the great and beautiful scenery. Overnight stay iat selected Hotel
Day 08: Ella
Spend the morning at leisure and then take an optional train journey to our next stop of Ella. The scenery on route is magnificent with views of tea plantations and mountains. You can take a local the train from Nona Oya (a few miles from Nuwara Eliya) to Ella where we will meet you and take you to a local hotel.
Day 09: Ella/Thissamaharamaya.
We travel to Thissamaharamaya. On the way visit the Buduruwagala (Buddha Images Carved on the rock) then go to Tissa and check in the hotel and start the afternoon Safari 2.30pm. Overnight stay at selected Hotel -Tissamaharamaya.
Day 10: Thissamaharamaya/Mirissa
Travel to your Mirissa for Beach stay On the way visiting the Blow hole, Overnight stay at selected Hotel - Mirissa
Day 11 - 12: Mirissa
A/M P/M Leisure by the swimming pool or by the beach Optional – it can be arranged if you wish for you to go and see the Dolphins and Whales
Day 13: Mirissa/Negombo
This day we travel to Negombo . On the way we can see the Stilt Fisherman, visit a Turtle farm, Galle Dutch fortress and sight seeing in Colombo. Overnight stay at selected Hotel.
Day 14: Negombo/Airport-Colombo
Transfer to the Airport to catch your flight
End of the Tour
A wonderful trip combining all the best, that Sri Lanka has to offer. Visit historical sites within the Cultural Triangle, take in the splendour of the mountains and the tea plantations and relax on wonderful beaches. There is a lot of travelling with plenty of time to rest too.
